About Jane
Jane Ellen Inman Stormer
Pronouns: She, Her, Hers
This website is dedicated to the art and thoughts of Jane Stormer. Jane has an affinity for art, deep thinking, and writing. To her older sisters’ frustration, she was noted for her artistic talents as a youngster and praised for a restrained approach that included coloring in the lines and not overusing snowflakes in holiday scenes. She chose to major in Studio Art and Art History at Hanover College where she was awarded two Greiner Art Purchase Awards, and Outstanding Studio Art Senior. Her experience studying at Hanover involved studying abroad in France and Italy, working closely with visiting professional artists, and working with the schools collection of art encouraged her to go further with her formal education. Jane then went on to receive an MFA in Printmaking from The University of Cincinnati DAAP Program. Due to a recession and her love of Hanover College, she took a step back from art and went on to spend 12 years working in the Admission Office at Hanover College. She was exposed to ideas of social justice, got a birds eye view of how the world works, and never stopped making prints and practicing photography. It was a privilege to work with wonderfully diverse people, travel to many different countries and states, and Jane continues to see the fruits of her labor in the hundreds of Hanover graduates doing great things in the world. Now, having grown beyond her role in admission, she is taking what she learned (and continues to learn) and returning to focus on art.
